…it’ll still be a day or two before the 48 Hour Film Project gets on-line. I do, however, have two promises from Kelli– the first is that she’ll post something fun for us. No pressure, Kel. But be funny or else.
And the other is that the 48HFP will be up as soon as the DVD makes it’s way to her place of employ with her.
So, put it in the coming soon category still. VERY SOON.
In other exciting news, editing will begin on the new Ultimate Eye tonight. We’ve still got a couple of pick-up shots, but I’ll keep everybody appraised of the progress.

So here’s some exciting news on a g14 project: yesterday, we shot the bulk of the follow-up to the wildly successful (and award-winning) “Ultimate Eye for the Vertigo Guy”. For all you fans of either g14 or comic books, this one should be fun. Featuring the characters from Garth Ennis’ comic masterpiece, “UE2: Preach on Preacher” is a fun-filled romp featuring dirty-talking southerners, human feces and pretty people.
And even more exciting news, we’ve already got the script written for the third installment of UE, and the fourth is in scripting right now. We hope to get all three new pieces out before the end of the year.
Expect more fun things soon from g14. Because we care. About you.
(Also, for all you clamoring to see “48HFP”– I’ll make sure to get it to our beautiful webmaster by the end of the week.)

Okay, so we didn’t win anything for the 48 Hour Film Project. Why?…you may ask. Well, it could be any number of reasons. I think the important thing to remember here is that people want to buy our short film. That’s right, in a random twist that I wouldn’t have expected, some people actually came up to one of our cast where she worked, told her they saw the screening, and they wanted to know if copies were available to buy. And that’s saying something.
So, there that is…when we get a good chance, we’re going to put that sucker up on our site so that you can take a gander at it yourself, and laugh and shake your head at how absurd we can be. And then, we’ll set it up for people to buy. Whether a DVD or an iPod download, we haven’t decided yet. I honestly don’t give a fuck if we technically can or not, I think we’re going to. Because, as I just realized, this is the first short film that we’ve made where we are free and clear to sell it. How about that?
Now, the really exciting thing about this is that it has really jazzed us all about what the next project might be. And though we’re not sure yet, as we don’t have a script (bah…script), we all had a lot of fun doing this 48 Hour thing, and we’d like to keep that rolling with our next feature film. SO…could it be? We might be actually doing a comedy next? Getting back to our roots again? It could be peeps. Stay tuned…

Most of us stayed up for 24 hours straight. Iron Jeff was up for over 30 hours. Once you see the sun rise twice with no sleep in between, drowsiness hangs off you like a wet, heavy blanket. Your vision fogs and your mind moves like it has sugar in the gas tank. And what do I remember most? Laughing alot, mostly at the look on Gnarles Ochs’s and Kells Bell’s face. God bless you crazy kids.
The movie’s been turned. Sleep has enveloped us in its waiting arms. And we emerge renewed, refreshed, and re… something else. So how is it? Funny. Really funny. Our genre pick was “Comedy” which really kind of “Sucks.” See, if we had gotten anything else, we would have been able to turn it into a comedy. But pulling comedy is like someone saying, “Okay… go be funny.” So, we decided to not care about winning, or the audience, or the other filmmakers that hurt themselves this weekend to finish their movies. Fuck’em! We put to digital video some of the sickest shit we find funny. Ideas that had swirled around for years were realized. We find it ridiculously funny. Probably, most of you won’t. I will not let my grandparents see this. I may not let my Mom see it. Or Laura. I will show it to my almost born niece everyday on her birthday so she will end up being cool. Because I’ve seen her parents and… COME ON! I am pretty sure the kid’ll be born with glasses on. Having fun pushing THAT through! Yikes.
The point is we will be run out of town after this screens. Want to be a part of the mob? Check out the screening this Friday. If you want details, go to Google! We have enough to do without laying everything out for you people. Do you want us to show you how to balance a checkbook or make toast, ya idiots?! COME ON!
Why don’t people like us?
David C. White
PS - Mad ups to Chris, BJ, Katie, Mistress Jai Bee, and our almost own g15 Hoberto D. for all of their hard work this weekend. And Big ups to the Stearns clan that went above and beyond for the flick. Let’s just hope Cara can’t find a copy of this when she makes the inevitable decision to divorce her parents. Ba-Zing!

I just thought I’d use the blog to actually pass along some info regarding Noir (since Jesse Kenney’s been holding her breath for 4 whole years).
Noir is almost complete. We’re in the process of doing Additional Dialogue Recording (ADR) with some of our actors from Waiting for Harry and Man/Woman. We’re working with some incredible folks over at Henninger to do it all of the sound design process (which is by way of a shout out to Kenneth Gilbert and Kim Howell– when you all hear what they’re doing, you’ll be blown away. Sean tried to eat his hand during one of the scenes.)
In addition, we’re putting some finishing touches on the score.
It’s pretty exciting to see it start to really come together after all this time, and really see the light at the end of the tunnel. I imagine it’s the metaphorical train representing our next project…. but that’s a story for another day.
Peace, love and a big fat pile of bodies Noir-style.
Jeff
