Joey & Hiroko Are Going to Kill LA
Posted June 7th, 2007 by Matthew in News, RantsHey all,
Do I not write enough? Well, that’s probably true. I just got back from London, I was going to write a piece on it…but damn it all I’ve just been too slammed with real life. However, I did want to jump on and let you know about something really cool for our two favorite ninja instructors.
Out of the blue about a month ago, I got an email from a professor at USC saying that she wanted to use one of our short films at a panel she was hosting. The flick?
Joey & Hiroko: Lesson 27 - Hide in Plain Sight. This episode has been chosen to be shown at the Pixelodeon festival in LA as part of Dr. Patricia Lange’s presentation on Physical Importance in the Vlogosphere (or as I like to call the Vlogosphere - the Weblos). Pretty crazy huh? I never would’ve thought that them fancy Doctor types would dig our stuff. Thanks Dr. Lange and everybody at Pixelodeon for enjoying the episodes and screening it at the conference!!
Actually, I think it’s more likely that Joey & Hiroko simply learned of the conference, found it a good way to “train” a large number of people, and threatened Dr. Lange from the shadows to screen the episode. Yeah…that sounds more right.
So, if you’re in LA this weekend…well…get the hell out of LA. Seriously, why would you be there? And whatever you do, don’t attend this conference. Unless you like living in fear that your life may be ended by ninjas at any moment. Your call.
Oh, one last thing. In the “look at how much g14 is trying to look like we won at Cannes” category, we did get some spiffy graphics from the show to promote the fact that yes, indeed, we are awesome. Check it:

That’s right. Now it’s like…we’ve got laurels.

Wow. Laurels! And I like to consider the “Weblos”/”Vlogosphere” instead as “The Egosphere”. Yup. Pure, living Ego. Much like “Ego the Living Planet”. And if you get that, you are A BIG FAT DORK.

As awesome as it is to be awesome as we are, how awesome is it that others believe us to be… awesome. Finally! Some laurels to rest on! I hate standing!
Also, everytime I am about to post something on blog, Matt or Jeff beat to the punch and I wait a couple of days as to not steal the thunder from their post. Then I forget to do it at all.
That said… I think I’ve learned enough about WordPress to be able to post something soon. But… probably not.

By Jove (you know, since you just returned from London), those are some nifty laurels! Congratulations to g14 and Joey & Hiroko!

I love laurels. And being awesome. . . or at least, being around awesomeness. You guys are TOTALLY gonna KILL LA!

Yes, congratulations to me. Clearly the people at Pixelodeon understand the gifts that I bring to the Physical Importance in the Vlogosphere. I am the Physical Importance!

And modest, too, Gav. And modest.

I didn’t become the worlds greatest living actor by being modest Jeff. I did it by being awesome! And drinking a Heineken mini-keg and NOT getting a hangover! Must have been the 600 broccoli florets that I ate that night as well.

As a ninja, you stealthily managed to hide from the hangover. Congrats! :)

I can safely say that no researchers (or ninjas) were harmed in the screening of the video at Pixelodeon. It went quite well and was very well received. I only wish you could have seen it on the big screen!

Thanks, Dr. Lange! I’m a little surprised that no researchers were harmed in the screening. Masters Joey and Hiroko are horrible in their wrath. Glad to hear things were bloodless. Unless they perhaps killed a great number of audience members, and you are just trying to shield our more fragile viewers. We understand. It’s a delicate balance, reporting the truth.

I’m just now seeing this but it rules.
